Happy 21st Tessa!

Yesterday was JJ's cousin Tessa's 21st birthday. We headed to Portland and before going out, got to see Emilia and Oliver's new house (so fun- they have the best yard ever!). After getting the tour of their place, we headed to the Montage for dinner. I've been there quite a few times, but JJ hadn't been there in years. We had both forgotten what a yummy place it is. Most of us chowed on their famous Mac n' Cheese, while Tessa recorded each drink that she had. One of her friends made her a little scrap book to record her first 20 legal drinks (she was quick to point out that they were not to be consumed in one night). It was very cute. After dinner, Tessa and some of her Willamette friends went out for some true 21-style partying- which at 34 and 32, JJ and I were not up for- so we headed home. I hope the rest of your birthday was super fun Tessa! Thanks for the invite. It was fun to hang out!

The Last Day of Summer

Today is the last day of my summer. It's back to work tomorrow. I actually really love my job and am completely happy doing it, but there is always something sad about the passing of all this independent, unstructured time. I always look back and think, "What in the world did I do with the last ten weeks?" This summer it was a lot of relaxing. We also took three trips with family, which were very fun.

Today I have a ton to do. I did absolutely nothing yesterday and now I'm paying for it with trips to two different banks, dropping clothes off for 2nd hand use, picking up some vitamins, grocery shopping, getting some last minute school supplies and doing five loads of laundry. Oh well, I guess this is a good way to ease myself back in to real life.

Auntie Saturday

Yesterday, I watched Porter for about five hours, while the rest of my family helped AJ and Maryanne move into their new house. We had a fun day. We walked to the Saturday Market (Porter slept through most of it), went grocery shopping, played and cried (he did most of the crying!). I had a good time playing house and getting some practice in :)
